Nurses and other health care practitioners are increasingly working outside their traditional boundaries of practice. There is a recognition that effective health practitioners are skilled clinicians who enhance the patient experience by bridging gaps in service provision. The quality and safety of patient care is dependent on nurses being adequately prepared for that role. This programme has been designed for experienced nurses and allied health professionals working in clinical settings.
At the end of the programme participants are expected to be able to:
Take a clear and concise medical and psychosocial history from patients
Perform appropriate physical examination:
Chest/Respiratory
Heart/Circulatory

Neurological
Recognise abnormal physical features and diagnostic test results
Be able to interpret clinical and psychosocial data and recognise the ill patient
Be able to suggest appropriate investigations and treatments.
