What do I do if I become a victim of zoombombing?

Here is a four-step approach to help you deal with any unwanted intruders in your Zoom meeting:

  1. Stay calm and do not react to the bad behaviour of the intruder. This is likely to make the situation worse for your attendees. It may also signal to the intruder that you have lost control of the situation. They want to see you upset, so try not to give them the satisfaction.
  2. Shut them up. Go to the Participants List and press the Mute All button. This will disable everyone's microphone and will make it very clear o the intruder that they are not welcome.
  3. Lock them out. Go to the Participants List in the navigation sidebar, and scroll down to More. Press Lock Meeting to prevent anyone else joining the meeting. Go to Security (the shield icon the host control bar) and select Remove Participant. This will redirect you to the Participants List, where you will be able to remove any individuals causing you trouble.
  4. If all else fails, end the meeting for all and reschedule it using a new, randomly generated meeting ID.
