The dissertation enables students to undertake a research project that involves the
study in depth of a specific economic problem or set of problems or issues. The
dissertation allows students to gain experience of original, independent but supervised
research. In addition, the dissertation provides the opportunity to make use of skills
acquired in MSc modules, either specific to a particular subject or field, or in the use
of mathematical and econometric techniques.
