Aims and objectives
Chinese Two is part of the Languages for All programme. It aims to provide students with
a. the ability to demonstrate in a variety of standard familiar daily, work and social situations and the ability to communicate and request general and specific information
b. sentence patterns, typical dialogues and paragraphs to learn and practice
c. ability to form sentences by examples and understand more complex sentences
d. opportunities to write paragraphs to express your ideas according to certain topics
e. a further understanding of Chinese culture and tradition
f. the Chinese study skills to ensure progression in language proficiency
The main goal of Chinese Beginners Two is to help students progress on the basic language skills acquired in LX996 Chinese Beginners One. The language focuses on simple, everyday conversations in Mandarin Chinese.
The topics covered in Chinese Two includes: weather, comments, shopping, money, invitations, appointments, food, travel, and timetables.
