Aims and objectives
Spanish Beginners Two is part of the Languages for All programme. It aims to provide students with
* the basic language skills necessary to communicate in Spanish in simple, everyday tasks and situations related to living, studying or working in a Spanish-speaking country
* an introduction to Spanish and Latin American culture
* the basic structures and language study skills to ensure progression in language proficiency
The main goal of Spanish Beginners Two is to help students progress on the basic language skills acquired in LX496 Spanish Beginner One. The language focuses on everyday conversations in Spanish. Students also learn about aspects of life and culture in present-day Spanish speaking countries. Among the skills taught in Spanish Two are the following:
* construct sentences in the perfect tense
* talk about past events
* talk about the future
* describe preferences, emotions, physical symptoms;
* give and understand instructions and directions
Students will expand their vocabulary and responses typically related to work or study issues. More specific details are provided in the work programme handed out at the start of each term.
