Should I set up my own Zoom event and share this with students?
No. Scheduling your own webinar or meeting should be avoided, if at all possible. We automatically schedule Zoom webinars for all teaching events because this provides you with more control than a Zoom meeting would give you (attendee audio and video are disabled by default).
However, we understand that a Zoom meeting might be more suitable for certain teaching events, especially those that require a greater level of participation. If you absolutely must schedule a Zoom meeting to replace a timetabled webinar, you must inform your students of the change. Their Outlook calendar will NOT be updated, and the scheduled webinar will not be deleted from Outlook.
