There will be 3 contact hours per week over 2 terms, plus revision classes in the summer term:
Class 1: text work, reading and writing skills
Class 2: oral and aural skills
Class 3: grammar
This module is designed to
* Prepare students for the year abroad in Germany
* introduce students to a variety of topics, including the environment, the history of the German language, life in East and West Germany
* familiarize students with a variety of complex grammatical phenomena,
* to develop and improve oral and written presentation skills
* introduce students to reading contemporary German literature (3 novels, see reading list)
