Aim:
To allow experienced practitioners in the field of musculoskeletal practice to extend their scope of practice to include the use of injection therapy.

The teaching takes place at Southend campus over five days: two full weekends and one additional Saturday.

Students will be expected to have an identified mentor in their workplace that is able to support them with the development of the skills required for the soft tissue and joint injection therapy module. The mentor(s) should be a clinician who regularly integrates injection therapy into their patient management. In addition, students should consider how prescribing issues will be managed in the long term, e.g. physiotherapists working in the NHS generally use a Patient Group Direction, (PGD).
