The world of health care is undergoing a period of crisis, not least due to the current debate about the funding and cost effectiveness of health care, but also in relation to concerns about oral health inequalities. Such interest has resulted in a proliferation of policies that define the practice of dental professionals. Traditional role boundaries are expanding. Technology further extends the possibility and scope for intervention. These changes have a legal dimension. This module provides the opportunity to explore some of the ethical and legal issues that commonly confront dental care workers.
