The overall objective of the module is to develop the variety of skills which constitute competence in a foreign language at University level. More specifically, students can expect to:
Develop confidence and competence at expressing themselves in both written and spoken French;
Be able to appreciate, summarise and evaluate ideas, arguments and conclusions in a text;
Improve their aural comprehension and learn the basic skills of oral improvisation;
Revise and reinforce their basic knowledge of the grammar and the vocabulary of French;
Extend their knowledge of social and cultural aspects of France and some of the regions/countries in which French is spoken.
