formats of research dissemination; target audience; books vs journal articles; textbooks/handbooks; research reports; working papers; policy briefs; review articles; joint vs single authorship; preparing book proposals; reaching wider audiences, the media; editorial boards

Week 6 Feedback on abstracts and discussion

Week 7 Obtaining research funding – the process
national and international research funding sources; making successful research funding applications; budgeting research; postdoctoral fellowships

(We will have a short presentation by Gary Williams, University of Essex Research Office)

Week 11 Publishing journal articles – the process
submitting, revising, and resubmitting journal articles; peer review
