Module Description

The module builds up on notions and topics approached and developed in psycholinguistics modules in Year 1 and 2. Now that we have an understanding of what is lexical processing or speech perception, we will focus on current trends and research published on more specific aspects. You will discover how children establish relationships between objects in their mental lexicon, how adults process sounds and letters or how deaf children acquire signed languages.
Working as a group, you will present research conducted on a topic of your choosing during the class.
Resolutely driven by current research, the module focuses on how experimentation can advance theories on how language is processed in the mind.
