The module continues advanced academic literacy study, picking up from Autumn Term module SK181. Please note that SK181 is also available as a Spring Term module for those students who wish to concentrate on essential essay-form writing skills.
This module reviews the reading-to-write cycle at a more advanced level, by taking you through stages of a research project. Tasks and source materials are tailored to suit the requirements of students in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Module aims carried over and advanced from SK181:
- Develop your mastery of the conventions of writing within your course discipline(s)
- Develop your ability to express ideas in formal writing with clarity, elegance and precision
- Develop your ability to synthesise ideas from several sources, and to use information from data gathering to support a reasoned line of argument
- Provide guided practice in planning and executing each stage of an academic project, from research design through to project write up.
